I am the Secretary/Treasurer of Culture Books.
I am the Vice President of Culture Books. I moved to Chattanooga 3 years ago with her husband and 2 little girls! We are a family who LOVES literacy and books. I have a passion for teaching which has led me to work in schools for a combined 3.5 years as an Instructional Assistant. Until moving to Chattanooga, I had non-profit experience as a Board Member and eventual staff member at Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky. She is excited to bring her experience and passion to Culture Books!
I am the owner and founder of Culture Books! I love to teach reading and working with kids.
I have a Master's Degree in Education. I taught for 14 years, before moving to a Director position. I had 10 years in an elementary setting and 4 in a Preschool setting. Each setting taught me something different.
My passion to start Culture Books came from being in the classroom and watching all the fun of learning be sucked out of learning because we had to focus all energy on making good grades on the test. Testing every week or preparing for a test. It saddened me and I wanted to make a difference and a change and how the students reacted to learning and reading!
